Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the electrical contracting industry, proven experience in estimating projects, and a strong background in the field. This role requires a strategic thinker who can accurately assess project requirements, develop competitive bids, and work closely with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the estimation process for electrical contracting projects, from initial review to final submission.
- Analyze project documents, specifications, and drawings to develop accurate and competitive bids.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure all aspects of the project are considered in the estimate.
- Prepare detailed cost breakdowns, material take-offs, and labor estimates.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits to gather necessary information for accurate estimating.
- Review and validate estimates prepared by junior estimators or other team members.
- Provide expert advice on cost-effective solutions and value engineering options.
- Maintain a database of historical data and industry pricing trends to support accurate estimating.
- Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure competitive pricing.
- Ensure all estimates meet company standards and are aligned with project goals and client expectations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in electrical contracting, with at least 2 years in an estimating role.
- Strong field experience in electrical construction, with a solid understanding of installation practices and challenges.
- Proven track record of successful project bids and the ability to develop accurate, competitive estimates.
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools (e.g., Accubid, Bluebeam, etc.).
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to work independently and lead a team of estimators.
- Must provide legitimate references that can verify work experience and professional integrity.
